Audain Art Museum

Project Description

The project consists of a 56,000 square foot, elevated, structural steel building. The museum sits on piers with concrete foundations and shear walls that elevate the building above the flood plain. The building is a two-storey, long, peaked, L-shaped structure that incorporates a highly insulated, engineered wood roof structure and metal panel exterior. The museum is designed as a “Class A” museum and meets international standards in HVAC (humidity and temperature controls and filtration) and security protection for the care and protection of art. The building is designed to LEED Gold standards, and is a world class museum housing portions of a private west coast art collection as well as travelling collections.
